Information You Submit
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
If you send an email or contact message, it may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. Messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Details
Routine logs and analytics may collect basic information when a page loads, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- the referring site, when supplied; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookies help show how visitors use the site. Browser controls can block them, although some functions may then work differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to:
- operate and improve site speed;
- send search requests to the selected partner;
- understand which resources visitors use;
- diagnose errors and security issues; and
- display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Links and Advertising
Links may lead to the Wapello County roster, sheriff pages, Iowa DOC, courts, federal locators, or independent search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy controls.
Advertising providers may track activity across websites using their own systems. Wapello County Recent Arrests does not control that collection.
Possible Data Recipients
Personal data is not sold. It may be processed or disclosed to:
- search partners that handle a submitted query;
- analytics providers;
- advertising networks; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Measures
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used to protect information. No website or internet transmission can be promised to be fully secure or immune from a breach.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian may use the Get in Touch page to request deletion if a minor submitted information.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law, a visitor may ask for a copy of personal data held by the site, request a correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. A request can be submitted through the Get in Touch page. These choices concern site-held data, not records maintained by Wapello County under Iowa Code Chapter 22.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A new version takes effect when posted here with its updated effective date.
